Genocide or Not in Syria?

I believe that this is not a genocide, first because according to international law. The president isn't actually attacking any specific political group, but he is trying to stay in power. The actions that were committed were genocide-like, but were not meant in a genocidal way, such as deportation, executions, torture, and sexual violence. Children's rights were abused as well. I believe that the reason the president committed these was to stay in power, not to get rid of an ethnic group.
