Life was normal for the Jews before the war because they read the news casually, and don't have many, if any cares. They were prospering and had extra time to enjoy personal activities. Life is simple in both of these photographs, all of the people enjoying reading, actually able to use their time to do leisurely activities. Though, in modern days, television news is more used than newspapers because of the convenience and the fact that newspapers "kill trees".
